The Brownfield Estate, London
Dating from the 1950s, London’s
Brownfield Estate now has a settled
resident base and strong local identity.
This regeneration project aims to
transform the public realm within
the general layout of refurbished
and new infill buildings and adopted
streets. It unifies disparate elements
of the site using a simple palette
of hard landscape materials,
developing a language that unites
the neighbourhood. Multi-use streets
and spaces are developed – bold and
contemporary in character, using
robust and high-quality landscape
elements.
Here, concrete flags in strong colours sparkle, highlight footways, while
