“The new ice rink was to become a place that was inviting, to
encourage participation, and the landscape around it had to
support that.
Our design was inspired by Slough Jets, the ice hockey team
and the lines of a stick, providing a stronger connection from
the town towards the building that would pull people towards

The landscape is now elegant with a modern flair. The outdoor
furniture, again with an ice-hockey inspired theme, creates a
meeting area for visitors of the centre. Surrounded by trees
and green plantation the footpath leading to the building is
built using contrasting materials which provide a striking
visual impact.”
The venue has already attracted celebrities, with Dancing on
Ice stars making an appearance. Track and field athlete Perri
Shakes-Drayton and professional skater Mark Hanretty, will
be at the ice rink on 28 April as part of a day of free activities.
