Complementary to the dining chair is a generously proportioned lounge chair reflecting the same distinctive round profile of the teak frame. ADRIAN GRAY IS THE PIONEER OF STONEBALANCING ART
Since his first stonebalancing creations 20 years ago Gray has progressed to monumental installations that are statement pieces with great visual impact. The sculptures work in contemporary and classical settings and are suitable for both private and commercial locations.
The boulders are balanced and a film made to capture the moment of creation. The sculpture is then discreetly fixed in exactly it’ s balanced position( for safety and longevity) to create a seemingly improbable balancing sculpture. They have to be seen to be believed.
Gray uses natural stones, carefully picked and paired to reveal their individual qualities, but sculpted and weathered by natural processes over time, this enhances the organic nature of his work. This more intuitive, less rigorously designed approach seems to be becoming increasingly popular in gardening, urban and landscape design.
