supplied a bespoke archway for Martello Park in Felixstowe.
Architectural metalwork specialists Alpha Rail has been appointed to supply a
bespoke decorative archway for Martello Park in Felixstowe.
that are present around Felixstowe, which helped to maintain local history and
heritage.
Martello Park is a newly created leisure and recreation space between the
Martello Park housing development and the Felixstowe seafront. The area runs
from Sea Road to Manor Terrace.
Commenting, Simon Walker, Suffolk Coastal Norse Property Services Manager
said:
Suffolk Coastal District Council wanted to further enhance this public park space
to add a new Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant public toilet block,
additional play equipment, and a new entrance arch to provide identity to the
main access from the existing seafront.
Alpha Rail’s work included interpreting the drawings into a working design
and the provision of 3D representations. The company then manufactured
and installed a decorative metal archway with coloured lettering. The arch was
powder coated blue with green highlighted areas. The top of the archway also
featured grey squares with two small windows to resemble the military forts
“Alpha Rail provided a very straight forward and professional service from start
to finish. Fabrication was managed in a timely fashion and flexibility offered in
agreeing an installation date. The completed installation provided an entrance
archway that was very much as envisaged from the conceptual drawings and
provided the park entrance with the identity we anticipated.”
