ABG ’ s UK manufactured Roofdrain geocomposite range provides factory controlled flow capacity for green roof constructions and structural landscaping applications .
Roofdrain allows storage of water within the nodes of the HDPE core , whilst facilitating the drainage of any excess water away from the roof . This helps prevent the root growing media from drying out during warm periods and from becoming waterlogged during wet periods .
The geotextile layer filters a wide range of materials whilst allowing water to percolate into the core of the geocomposite .

A brand new £ 64M service station development has opened at J45 on the M1 in Leeds , located adjacent to Skelton Lake country park , 2 miles south east of the city centre .
The main 5,277m 2 food court building features an undulating wildflower living roof to help minimise the visual impact of the development , configured in a unique ‘ ribbon ’ pattern in eleven separate sections . The green roof absorbs rainwater into the roof build up to minimise surface water run-off ; and the vegetation , growing media and filtration fabrics used within the green roof construction also filter dust and pollution from the air and rainfall , reducing the amount of chemicals and pollutants that reach the surrounding water courses .
At the base of the living roof structure ABG Roofdrain reservoir and drainage geocomposite is installed . The main core structure of the HDPE reservoir board features a matrix of storage cups to attenuate storm water and provide irrigation of the wildflower and sedum planting during dry periods .
The green roof system was designed by ABG Geosynthetics and installed by Geogreen Solutions .
