Phil Spencer is joining forces with
St Mungo's Broadway to call on hat
lovers up and down the country to
show their support for homeless
people by taking part in Woolly Hat
Day on Friday 30th January 2015.
Now in its fifth year, Woolly Hat Day
sees thousands of people donning
beanies, baseball caps and berets to
help St Mungo's Broadway raise money
for its work supporting homeless men
and women.
Phil Spencer, who is a patron of
the charity, says: "Woolly Hat Day
is a fantastic excuse to dig out your
most colorful, flamboyant or unusual
hat and wear it with pride to make a
difference to the lives of homeless and
vulnerable people. There are countless
ways to take part in the day, so why
not hold a hat party, sponsor a friend
to wear something eccentric or bake
some Woolly Hat Day cupcakes to help
homeless people get ahead.
“As temperatures drop during winter,
the dangers of sleeping rough increase,
but a hat can support us to help
people find a home. By taking part in
Woolly Hat Day and raising money for
St Mungo’s Broadway, you can help
homeless people get back on their feet
through housing, health, training and
counselling support.
“This year, St Mungo's Broadway is
aiming to raise £60,000, which would
make life-changing differences to
vulnerable people. There are lots of
ways for people to take part and help us
reach this ambitious total.”
