North leads the rental market charge
Data from the latest Move with Us
Rental Index has shown that the
average advertised rent in Great
Britain rose by £27 (2.84%) in
November. It’s now £82 on average
more expensive to rent a property
than it was in November 2013.
The biggest increases came from the
North of the country, with Yorkshire
and Humber rising £66 (11.66%) and the
North East £65 (10.24%). Both regions
showed signs of recovery during October
following a lean year in which advertised
rents declined at a consistent rate. This
growth has not been isolated, as the other
northern markets have seen increases as
average rents have buoyed leading into
the Christmas period, supporting increases
in the national average asking rent.
