CONTEMPORARY ART REVIEW
participate in the experience of contemplating a piece of art : it demands your total attention and a particular kind of effort — it ’ s almost a commitment . So before leaving this conversation we would like to pose a question about the nature of the relationship of your art with your audience . What do you think about the role of the viewer ? Are you particularly interested if you try to achieve to trigger the viewers ' perception as starting point to urge them to elaborate personal interpretations ?
Challenging the role of the viewer is the most important focus of my work . I hope the visuals alone will stop the viewers in their tracks , but a conceptual understanding will encourage them to interpret the work ’ s greater meaning . I want the viewers to come away with a new perception of the world .
Thanks a lot for your time and for sharing your thoughts , Jacob . Finally , would you like to tell us readers something about your future projects ? How do you see your work evolving ?
I am currently undertaking two projects at the moment ; I am in talks with the MOD to photograph their fabricated villages . These places have always been of interest to me but it is a struggle to get access to these sites . Also I am experimenting with cremating various broken objects to give them a respectful send off .
