CONTEMPORARY ART REVIEW
participate in the experience of contemplating a piece of art: it demands your total attention and a particular kind of effort— it’ s almost a commitment. So before leaving this conversation we would like to pose a question about the nature of the relationship of your art with your audience. What do you think about the role of the viewer? Are you particularly interested if you try to achieve to trigger the viewers ' perception as starting point to urge them to elaborate personal interpretations?
Challenging the role of the viewer is the most important focus of my work. I hope the visuals alone will stop the viewers in their tracks, but a conceptual understanding will encourage them to interpret the work’ s greater meaning. I want the viewers to come away with a new perception of the world.
Thanks a lot for your time and for sharing your thoughts, Jacob. Finally, would you like to tell us readers something about your future projects? How do you see your work evolving?
I am currently undertaking two projects at the moment; I am in talks with the MOD to photograph their fabricated villages. These places have always been of interest to me but it is a struggle to get access to these sites. Also I am experimenting with cremating various broken objects to give them a respectful send off.
