In other words , reality can not exist without imagination and imagination can not exist without reality . In my paintings I am becoming more and more relying upon imagination . I can ’ t stuck just on to “ reality ” without any interpretation , eventhough my main source of inspiration is reality . Imagination in art process is always personal but I like to leave space to the audience eventhough I sometimes choose very personal subjects . Because it is not just a personal subject , it is a representation of an essence we all have within .
We daresay that your paintings are explorations , interpretations and expressions of the world around you and within yourself . How would you describe the relationship between intuition and technique in your practice ?
Intuition is very important for me . In fact intuition helps me so much on my decisions . But I can ’ t just produce a work with intuitions . In that sense the technique is very important . I study drawing and observe objects to improve my skills and technique . Besides I examine old masters ’ paintings again and again . Because without technique it is not possible to express myself completely . Technique is a tool , technique is a carrier .
I almost always start a painting in a very expressive way . I use the colors that I need to see on my subject without hesitation of making a mistake . After a while I get satisfied with this expressive language and calm down . I gather together the visual to reach my meaningful end . On that process painting starts to get relaxed as well and may break or develop its ties with abstraction .
