CONTEMPORARY ART REVIEW
This degree of openness in which we speak of is indeed very important to me . After all , that is what art is all about in my world . Everyone sees something different . Everyone may feel something different . Others may be evoked to question or interrogate , while others take conceive in its glory and positive quality / energy . The world is full of opportunity , why shouldn ’ t an artist ’ s artwork be any different . I strive to keep an open mind in everything I do in life as the possibilities are simply endless . When I put a brush on the paper or canvas I feel as though I am creating my own world of possibility . A world that may or may not be given a definitive answer in regards to its essence but more so a chance for others to be inspired to explore their own lives , dreams , passions , creativity , etc . I want my work to be somewhat overly open , yet very specific at the same time ; generally in subject matter that is .
I so frequently ask myself how can one simply not be profoundly fascinated and autogenously evoked with the seemingly pure abstraction of legend and mysticism . How fascinating it is to hear stories that have lasted from generation upon generation and still play crucial importance in our lives . There are not too many things in my life that would be more exciting than listening to an old story from your father around a woodburning fire beneath the pale moonlight , or quietly laying to rest as your mother sings you an old midnight lullaby and tells you a tale from the very dawn of our ancestors . It is a role in my monumentally boundless artistic and creative world in which I feel most obligated to pursue … the role of storytelling !
A large majority of my life is revolved around mysticism . Luckily , I have not had to fulfill a series of life-threatening obstacles to acquire an immense life changing mystical experience , thankfully this mysticism already lives within me . Running through my veins , from my heart and mind and out through my hands . The common person is taught that mysticism itself is a sole agglutination of belief within supremacy or deity . This seemingly spiritual based trepidation has been questioned and disputed for thousands of years . However this is the point where I strive to advocate the potent greatness and absolute wonder in not knowing a definitive answer to the question of mysticism as this is what keeps many of us alive . This undermining knowledge as rational beings that we suppress in our intellectual minds cannot be any overwhelming in my most humble opinion , than the satisfyingly glorified attainment that we can ourselves obtain . When I laugh , I laugh hard . When I am around children , I play like a child . When I look at the stars and the moon , I thank my God for another day .
This concept of mysticism does not necessarily have to be attributed with self-delusion as some may perceive it ; but more so a testament from my hands to yours , that your questions can become answers , your dreams can become reality , your thoughts can become agencies , and your mind can move that mountain in the far distance . However in saying just that , let us be aware that our assumptions and anxieties can turn our very selves against this positive affiliation of self-mysticism . We must be firm when we find our own atmosphere of enlightment , but beware of the consequences that can be stricken when questioning selfmysticism as some conceptions can be especially deceiving . Consider yourself Warned !
Take the Geisha for example ; the presentation of a beautiful , young , and respected female in a traditional high class society whom simply dominates in the art of dance , tradition and seduction . A hostess trained in the highest rank of performance , music , game playing , and conversation . Yet one may not interpret the Geisha herself within the piece hiding herself beneath her elegant kimono and hand-held
