CONTEMPORARY ART REVIEW
My preference of colors depends on what kind of emotion I choose to transmit. For example in“ Self-Portrait” I had the tendency to use grey tones but I had the reference to three main colors red, blue and yellow to create a more psychological atmosphere. On the other hand in the painting“ My Father is My Mona Lisa” I used bright, vibrant and full of light colors to transfer the feelings of tranquility and joy.
Over these years you showcased your works in several occasions: you have had to solos including your recent show at the FASS Art Gallery Istanbul, Turkey. One of the hallmarks of your work is the capability to create a direct involvement with the viewers, who are urged to evolve from a condition of mere spectatorship. So before leaving this conversation we would like to pose a question about the nature of the relationship of your art with your audience. Do you consider the issue of audience reception as being a crucial component of your decisionmaking process, in terms of what type of language is used in a particular context?
My decision-making process is an inner intuition and I don’ t decide upon audience’ s preferences. I focus on myself and I try to find the best ways possible to express or conduct the work. During the working process I am both painter and the audience. As soon as I am finished with the painting I leave the role of audience to the real audience and I step back. instinctive about colors and I use colors without hesitation and I always have the tendency to use a wide range of colors.
In my perception, audience and artwork are inseperable and artist is the connector between the audience and the artwork. I feel like after I finish the work, my responsibility finishes with that work and I leave it to the audience. I like to make
