Hey , hey , hey , LandEscape ! I ’ m so heavenly happy to be here with you ! And yes , you ' re right , I ' ve got master ' s degree in Architecture . Honestly , I used to think that getting a degree in architecture may be the wrong path , because I have never felt that it is my true passion ; that said , I recently realized that there are no mistakes in life and everything that has happened has been a significant and valuable experience which allowed me to become the person I am now . I started to understand that there are a lot of useful skills I gained during that time . The most important one is the ability to turn an empty space into an astonishing world . I mean , when I ' m standing in the middle of a space , considering it for a potential art show venue , I don ’ t just see walls to hang paintings , but a space in which every detail can play its own role and become a part of a story .
You are a versatile artist and your practice includes a wide variety of media and disciplines : ranging from paintings and drawings to sculptures , installations and objects the kaleidoscopic nature of your practice shows an organic synergy between a variety of expressive capabilities . In particular , how do you manage to merge contrasting materials into a cohesive whole ? What kinds of connections do you make in between the materials ?
This is an interesting question : I ' m definitely a multifunctional artist who is playing with everything at the same time . But the process of creating art is too magical and ethereal to describe it in words . I would rather say that I ' m trying to prohibit my brain from managing the creation process because the brain actually knows nothing about it ; its main task is to be quiet during the process and allow my soul to express everything it wishes . Sometimes , I cannot foresee or understand what ' s going to happen in the next second or how all the things can possibly be merged together until the art piece is actually finished . Answers come spontaneously from places I hadn ' t even expected to get them , and I tend to love the craziest ones . So , if next time I realize that I need to spin around my own axis wearing a hat made out of pine nuts and singing the songs of sea birds , during my art-show , that ’ s what I will do .
