Orlando Letelier , the Chilean ambassador ’ s car was blown up in Dupont Circle . It had a big impact on me and I remember sitting amidst the adult shock and sorrow and witnessed then the left being taken apart and some of the people there it turned out were working for the CIA . But this was the world . My whole street was CIA , State Department , Embassy residences , cuz that ’ s a lot of permanent DC , which became our world . Indigenous DC because you are seeing it from the inside out and that kind of context is very unique , if you ever break out of it and enter the outside
