CONTEMPORARY ART REVIEW
For me, painting is an intimate act, and probably for the other artists as well. It is the best way to express my feelings, my beliefs, my emotions, my values, my worries, my desires, my love, my hate, my soul, my inner me and my everything. My intention is not to feed my ego or to impose all of those as only and absolutely truthfully, but just to share my point of view. The truth is a relative concept and can be very subjective. I don’ t divide art as female’ s or male’ s. For me, art is unisex; no sexism should be allowed. If somebody looks for the additional meaning, they always can find it. Probably my brushstrokes are more softened, and the cathedrals and streets of old cites look more fairytale-like, but this is because of my passion for illustration. Architecture definitely is more popular among male audiences or male artists, but this does not mean that women can’ t be attracted to or paint architecture. Flowers are not only female’ s subjects of interest, either.
As Ayn Rand said in The Fountainhead,“ Art is selective re-creation of reality”. Architecture is a difficult subject that requires not only logical thinking, good math skills, construction, but enormous creativity, flow of ideas, abstract thinking, talent, soul. I enjoy the process of my mini-recreation. I don’ t look on the cathedrals or on buildings as general just as construction or building materials, for me they are breathing creatures and I am looking for their soul. Probably this brings more balance in my work. Logical together with spiritual. Watercolor is something relatively new for me, this why this process of mini-recreation is a more personal discovery. Aquarelle is so delicate and ethereal, almost like mystical creature and is the best media to recreate the soul of the building. Probably this make my work to look more balanced, the combination of logic with spirit, of material with soul.
I admire the unprecedented work, pure genius and talent of all of them. They
