camera is also something that I am attracted to. I paint about two weeks per piece, possibly more, but not on a 24 / 7 basis. I wish I had enough time to paint still life buildings in every country that I visit. But with the perspective that I prefer to paint, I have no idea how long I could stay in one position during the entire process. On the other hand, I really enjoy the atmosphere of the city and with all these people around me, I am certain that I wouldn‘ t be able to pay attention to all details of the buildings and recreate them the same way that I currently do, if I painted still life. Thus, I love painting with interesting perspective. For example, my daughter took the picture of Duomo di Milano on her phone during our trip in 2012. When I saw the photo, I immediately was drawn to it and I painted for two, three weeks.
It’ s very individual. In my case, the creative process can be disconnected, but only from the direct physical experience, not the emotional. My inspiration is provoked from a lot of different places, cities or buildings that I have never visited before. I don’ t need a direct experience to be inspired. The inspiration could be provoked from anything( the light, interesting perspective, non-typical design, and can be lost by anything. This is why I work with some
