Orlando Letelier, the Chilean ambassador’ s car was blown up in Dupont Circle. It had a big impact on me and I remember sitting amidst the adult shock and sorrow and witnessed then the left being taken apart and some of the people there it turned out were working for the CIA. But this was the world. My whole street was CIA, State Department, Embassy residences, cuz that’ s a lot of permanent DC, which became our world. Indigenous DC because you are seeing it from the inside out and that kind of context is very unique, if you ever break out of it and enter the outside
