I was born in Paete, Laguna. It is revered as the woodcarving capital of the Philippines. Art has been a natural part of my formative years. I was told that, as early as three years old, I have been drawing with a pencil. That should explain why I can draw simultaneously with both hands. I can also draw with my feet.
The civil engineering course that I took broadened my perspective on shapes and sizes with mathematical foundation. As you may imagine, vast field mensuration and 3D analyses are endemic in various college projects. Yet a certain inner hunger to keep exploring other facets of art compelled me to take a formal art education in a university. Of course, it also felt good to finish a fine arts course quite like a mental sculpture project.
