CONTEMPORARY ART REVIEW
give the painting its vibrations . This aesthetic has an echo in my work , for example my piece “ Novembre ” ( 2013 , mixed media on canvas , 36 x 72 in ). I was strongly attracted to these vibrations of forms and colours without precise representation .
In addition , for a number of years now I have also spent time around artist-run centres for contemporary art , which present exhibitions and works by their members . I realise that all this diversity in the contemporary art community has contributed to cultivating , elaborating and enriching my artistic language .
Your approach is very personal and your technique condenses a variety of viewpoints , that you combine together into a coherent balance . We would suggest to our readers to visit http :// www . marierioux . net in order to get a synoptic view of your work : in the meanwhile , would you like to tell to our readers something about your process and set up ? In particular , would you tell our readers something about the evolution of your style ? In particular , are your works painted gesturally , instinctively ? Or do you methodically transpose geometric schemes from paper to canvas ?
Over the years , the major influences on the evolution of my style as an artist have been , first of all , my diverse life experiences and the places in which I have lived . The result is the aesthetic summation of my emotional journeys . . . My paintings bear witness to moments I have felt and are the echo of my experiences . The foundations I acquired in school and the lyrical emotion I feel come together and join to become my personal vision , which I share and convey in my work .
