CONTEMPORARY ART REVIEW pain today. I do not think one can separate the creative process from the personal experience, since the latter is the catalyst to the creative process resulting from one’ s inner truth. The origin of the choice of colors is innate in my emotional spectrum at that time, the same goes to the selected images chosen by the subconscious.
Your successful attempt to capture the physical feature of a place or a moment leaves space for the spectators to replay the scenes in their own intimate lives, letting them become emotionally involved in what you are attempting to communicate. How do you conceive the narrative for your works?
The narrative of my work is created through the work process as I begin drawing without a sketch on the canvas. My mental-emotional experience is what motivates the work. While painting, emotions arise on the surface and I allow the expressive expression expressive to lead the formal and colorful moves. After this stage, I stop working in a logical and intelligent manner. I then ask myself questions such as: What does this image tell me-which experience have I gone through, what bothers me the image and why.
Thus, while allowing myself the process of inquiry and investigation, I engage in an internal and Sisyphean dialogue with myself, sometimes I find out things about myself and burst into tears mixed with joy, or rather pain that stems out from the discovery itself as well as better understanding of myself, of who I am. As I begin to discovery process, I at the same time start re-processing my emotional experience yet this time as an adult: Watching it in fear, pain and facing these experiences. At this point, I already know what is the title of the painting because the work is based on subjective experiences and feelings. The title becomes the outline the ongoing work. For example, the work " Stuck in The Mud ", the image was formed in the early stages of the work process. The thing that caught my attention was the fact that the girl ' s shoes I painted upside down, unconsciously. The girl is unable to move this way. As part of my investigation process, I drew my own experience of a girl who went to pick( without permission) oranges from the orchard and sank in the mud, dressed in new holiday clothes she received for Passover.
