Where Art and
Creativity Expand
The Lander Art Center is a
community visual art nonprofit that
engages the community’s young
people and adults in visual arts
through quality art exhibitions,
classes and sales that support a
strong arts community in
Fremont County. The Art Center is
a membership-based organization
that involves Fremont County’s
rather large and sophisticated artistic
community.
Taught in a Main Street location,
classes include a variety of mediums
such as ceramic, life drawing,
painting, metal jewelry, fiber arts,
and traditional western arts such as
horse hair hitching and leather work.
Youth classes include preschool,
after-school, Saturday morning and
an expansive summer art program.
Adult classes vary from weekend
workshops to weeknight classes. A
scholarship program is available for
all classes.
Instructors range from
professional and amateur artists to
highly skilled educators. The Art
Center welcomes community
members to teach classes and share
their expertise and enthusiasm.
The exhibition program includes
local, regional and national artists
and ranges from amateur youth and
adult artists to professional,
internationally recognized artists.
There are approximately ten
exhibitions yearly that feature
traditional to contemporary art. Each
exhibition begins with an evening
opening reception.
The 2012 exhibition season
included the What I’ve Made
