Is Your Website
Ready
for Summer?
by: Vanessa Swanepoel
The long nights and cold rainy days
of winter are abating. It’s spring and
people are coming out to enjoy the
sunshine, our wondrous outdoors
and the company of friends. Soon
it will be summer and many people
will be setting off for their annual
holidays. More and more people
will be using their mobile phones to
access the Internet.
What does your website look like
on a mobile phone? What does it
look like on a Blackberry, a Nokia,
an iPhone 4 or an iPhone 5? What
does it look like on an iPad or
tablet?
Hopefully it doesn’t look like it
does on a desktop computer or a
laptop. Hopefully you don’t have to
scroll down or sideways or zoom
in and out incessantly. Hopefully it
looks good and is easy to navigate
no matter what device it is being
accessed from.
If it isn’t, you should make sure it
is. Not just because its summer
and more people are outdoors
but because it’s the 21st Century
and more and more people are
accessing the Internet from their
mobile devices. In fact there are
probably millions of people who
will only ever access the Internet
from their phones or tablets. It is
becoming vital that websites are
compatible with multiple devices.
