Decorated Cement Pot with Paint Technique and Decoupage By Alex Forsyth (Bushbaby Mosaics Studio) Visit us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/bushbaby.mosaics MATERIALS: Plain cement or terracotta pot. Acrylic paints in white and one other colour to complement the design. Pretty patterned paper serviettes, decoupage podge, brushes, water based varnish, scissors. I had a very unatttractive cement pot that needed freshening up. First I painted it with a base coat of white acrylic, if it doesn’t come out bright enough, then give a second coat. Once dry, I used a dry brush with a bright pink acrylic paint and flicked the colour across the pot in a hash pattern, covering most areas but leaving some white to show through. Also put some colour onto the lip of the pot, and inside too if you would like.
