Dear Reader, I am hearing new accents and words that people here apparently think are English but that I know, frankly, are not. I’ve also just learned about something called ‘airtime’ for my phone, I am calculating currency conversions and I think I’m doing reasonably well for a jet-lagged foreigner. Then it’s made clear to me that I have been horribly misinformed about, well, just about everything over, well, just about my entire life. For example: First, I discovered that despite what all of my teachers taught and despite what all of the maps showed when I was shown them – the real truth was that The U.S.A was actually not actually a continent, but even if we counted all of the other parts of North America, it was not even the largest Continent on the globe.
