LEGACY THROUGH CONSERVATION
At 3419 Jenkins Freeman Road on Johns Island, land passed down through generations of the Freeman family reflects a rich history of perseverance, stewardship, and connection to place.
With support from local grant funding, Dr. Louis Anderson fulfilled his vision of permanently protecting the property as the Sarah Lee Freeman-Anderson Biodiversity & Wildlife Habitat. A conservation easement now safeguards its natural resources while supporting ecological restoration, sustainable land management, and biodiversity conservation.
This protection allows the property to remain both a living family legacy and a place where future generations can explore with curiosity, deepen their appreciation for the natural world, and engage in the stewardship of its native habitats.
Through this easement Dr. Anderson has honored his family ' s heritage while safeguarding an important piece of Johns Island ' s natural landscape forever.
