When talking to Simon Foster , the owner of Fostering Classics , it is clear there is a real passion for delivering exceptional , high-quality projects to its customers .
Fostering Classics is nestled in a small business park near Evesham just north of the Cotswolds . It was founded by owner Simon Foster , who is a qualified and experienced automotive engineer . Simon held a technical management role in a large car manufacturing company for many years , but the draw of classic cars was too strong , and he left to start Fostering Classics in early 2019 .
The business philosophy is simple ; it offers an open and transparent restoration service that allows customers to see how their cars are brought back to life . It is of utmost importance for the business to build trust and forge lasting relationships with all its customers .
This has allowed the company to organically grow over the last three years , mainly through recommendations and referrals .
Many restoration companies tend to specialise in specific makes or models , but Fostering Classics cater for all marques of vehicles and all levels of service , from periodic maintenance to full bare metal , nut-and-bolt restorations . A few examples of completed projects can be viewed on the company ' s website . Interestingly , we noted the oldest classic project was from 1933 , a Willys Coupe and the newest a 1992 SAAB Turbo . A span of almost 60 years ! There is even a 1962 Lambretta in their portfolio !
As well as customer projects , Fostering Classics also restores and sells their own classic vehicles . Currently , there is a stunning 1972 Fiat 500 that has just completed a full restoration , and a 1972 Citroen DS is waiting in the wings for its turn in the limelight !
The Fostering Classics team is small but highly skilled , with most aspects of the restoration activity being carried out inhouse rather than outsourced . This approach ensures that the exacting quality standards can be maintained and guaranteed . If work is outsourced , such as engine machining or major paintwork , a carefully selected set of suppliers are used .
