Camper Round the Coast VW Type 2 set to raise £ 1000s for Prostate Cancer UK
Silverstone Auctions will be selling a rather special VW Type 2 Camper van this weekend , only weeks after it completed a mammoth tour around the coast of the UK to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK .
The joint project between Practical Classics Magazine and Classic Motor Show Sponsors , Lancaster Insurance Services Ltd , actually went down to the wire , with an MOT the day before departure on the 1979 van ’ s ( named Bluebell ) fund-raising tour following a two-year long full restoration .

That sum , it is hoped , will be eclipsed by the amount raised at the Silverstone Auction .

The first stop on the CRTC tour was the Beaulieu Autojumble , where Bluebell was the star of the show . Then it was onto the top five beaches in Britain , as voted for by PC readers and Lancaster Insurance customers , starting off at Woolacombe in Devon ( pictured ).
The run then took in Camber Sands , East Sussex , Saltburn-bythe-Sea , Cleveland , Bamburgh , Northumberland and finally
