Lancaster Insurance will embrace the post-pandemic state of excitement amongst classic car enthusiasts from all over the world , as the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show hits the NEC this November . It ’ s difficult to remember a show with so much eager anticipation , as the open road beckons once again , and with that in mind , Lancaster Insurance , in its ninth year as headline sponsor , will adopt the theme , ‘ The Journey Continues ’ by celebrating Great British Road Trips on their two stands in Hall One .
A competitor in the iconic 1970 Daily Mirror London-Mexico World Cup Rally , ‘ Puff the Magic Wagon ’, will take centre stage on Lancaster ’ s stand 250 , amongst other major headline acts . The 1969 Austin Maxi , nicknamed
‘ Puff ’, took on the infamous race , in which out of the 100 cars that started , only 25 completed it . The driver of the car , Bron Burrell will also be on the stand to share her memories and adventures , alongside the car , which is preparing to finish the rally , more than half a century later .
On Lancaster Insurance ’ s second stand , number 480 , will be Lancaster ’ s competition car – a 1984 Ford Escort XR3i , an iconic 80 ’ s hot hatch , which will be given away in a free prize draw to one lucky winner in time for Christmas . The renovation project was featured in Kelsey ’ s Classics Monthly magazine and Classics World , so come and enter the FREE prize draw which closes at the end of the show . Visitors can also bid for the 1979 Volkswagen Type 2 Camper which has been restored by Practical Classics Magazine . The Bay Window bus , fresh from a tour of some of Britain ’ s best beaches over the summer , will be auctioned at the show on Sunday 14th , with all profits raised going to the charity Prostate Cancer UK .
