The Year of the DEbutants

A Show of Firsts

For 2026, we challenged our motoring clubs to bring us something we haven’ t seen before. That challenge became this year’ s Débutants theme, celebrating cars making their first appearance at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show.
Across seven halls, you’ ll find first-timers ranging from the exceptionally rare to the wonderfully unexpected, each with its own reason for being here. Some have spent decades out of the spotlight, some were built as one-offs, and others have stories that sound almost too good to be true.
With more than 3,000 vehicles at the show, even returning visitors should find plenty they’ ve never seen here before.

Rare Finds and Remarkable Firsts

The Debutants theme will start at the very front of Hall 5 with a curated display of cars never seen at the show before, including the press cars for the Hillman Avenger Tiger and Rover Mini Cooper Sport, which is also the first production model in the Classic Mini finale range.
There will also be extremely rare cars such as the Hotchkiss-Grégoire Chapron Berline and 1937 Ford V8 boat tail racer imported from Argentina. They will be joined by other firsts, including Dr Ed Barsley, who is attempting to become the first person to circumnavigate the globe in an electric classic car. He has converted his father’ s 1955 Series 1 Land Rover to fully electric for the challenge.
