Solar Hot Water Heater

A solar water heater uses the sun’ s energy to pre-heat household water before it enters the conventional gas( or electric) water heater. Because of the tremendous amount of sun that Africa receives, a solar water heater could generate up to 90 % of your annual water heating needs.
How it works
The design of this type uses the all-glass evacuated solar collector tubes as a heat absorbing element. The high vacuum degree of the clearance between the outer and inner tube reduces the heat emission which is caused by convection and conduction to a very low level. All-glass evacuated tubes, transfer solar energy into heat energy by high absorption rate and low emittance rate of layer films. Due to the different densities between the hot water and the cold water, a cycle is created in the tube in which hot water ascends and cold water descends. As the natural circulation is maintained, the water in the tank is heated
Why buy a Solar Water heater? With savings in electricity or natural gas, solar water heaters pay for themselves within four to eight years. And solar water heaters last between 15 and 40 years--the same as conventional systems--so after that initial payback period is up, zero energy cost essentially means having free hot water for years to come.
Will solar heating affect how much water I will have? Will I have to change my bathing and cleaning routine? Yes and No. You will actually have much more hot water than ever before. If the system is sized well for your family, you will no longer need to wait for the water heater to‘ recharge’ between showers. Solar water heaters are always installed in addition to your regular water heater. That means that even during bad weather you will still have hot water. To maximize your savings, you should attempt to use the most hot water in the late morning and early afternoon when the solar system is operating at its peak. Also, it helps to spread your cleaning load over the week. For example, instead of washing seven laundry loads all at once it would pay to do one a day. This will reduce the amount your regular water heater must operate.
