Our Police and Fire Departments are very active in the community, outside of their day-to-day public safety responsibilities. They host community events at their facilities and attend several community events throughout the year – including National Night Out.
ON THE WATER
Enjoy fishing, boating, two swimming beaches and motorized water sports. There are public lake access points at Lakeville’ s Casperson Park, Antlers Park and Orchard Lake Parks. Swimming beaches at Orchard and Antlers, and boat launches at Orchard and Casperson parks. The outdoor performance stage opened in 2023 at Casperson Park with live music next to the water. The Live at the Lake summer concert series runs June through August at Casperson Park. Enjoy live entertainment and the scenic Lake Marion Wednesday evenings.
PARKS
Lakeville’ s recreational amenities are second to none and include over 1,200 acres of parks, 492 acres of greenways and conservation areas, nearly 150 miles of paved trails, 70 park facilities, 50 playgrounds, 29 shelters and 41 picnic facilities. Ritter Farm Park, a 340-acre wildlife refuge with hiking trails for summer and cross-country skiing for winter, also features a five-acre dog park. Antlers Park and Beach re-opened in the spring of 2024 with a beautiful remodel and added an events venue, a firepit gathering area, accessible playground, and LBC on the Lake restaurant.
Construction at the brand-new Grand Prairie Park is in progress with some amenities expected to open in the summer of 2025. Amenities include a splash pad, playground, ten pickleball courts, picnic areas and a challenge course. The 68-acre park will also boast a full-size baseball field with grandstand, a variety of athletic decks, including a cricket pitch, and extensive multi-use trailways.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES
Lakeville is home to many lakes, wetlands, streams, prairies and woodlands. Environmental Resources staff help to manage, promote and protect these important natural features.
EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
Each spring, the City of Lakeville celebrates Earth Day with a community-wide effort to protect and preserve the environment through education, hands-on activities and watershed cleanup initiatives. This annual celebration brings residents together to learn about local ecosystems, sustainability and the importance of clean water in our community.
WATERSHED CLEANUP
Lakeville Watershed Cleanup encourages individuals, families and groups to take part in cleaning up trash and debris from local parks, trails, ditches and water bodies. This community effort plays an important role in protecting Lakeville’ s lakes, wetlands and rivers from pollution. Volunteers are provided with supplies and safety tips, and the city coordinates designated drop-off locations for collected waste.
