COMMUNITY SECURITY & SAFETY
To help prevent Crime , LLA encourages members to be mindful of ensuring their property is secure ( i . e ., lock cars , homes , garages ) and stay informed of activity in the neighborhood . Many petty crimes can be prevented by securing homes and vehicles and paying closer attention to nuisance behavior . If you have been a victim of any crime , please contact the Frederick County Sheriff ’ s office ( emergency : 911 / Non-emergency : 301-600-2071 ). Thank you for helping keep the community safe !
AMENITY PATROL
The LLA contracts a regional security firm to serve as Amenity Patrol officers . These officers oversee the communal areas and amenities to ensure that non-Members are not present . They enforce the privacy of LLA facilities for Members in good standing and assist with enforcement of the guest policy , vehicle parking rules , and minor safety issues .
Below are a few scenarios when it is fitting for Members to contact Amenity Patrol ( 301-865-8958 ).
• Witnessing non-Members at amenities
• Suspecting a non-Member vehicle parked at an amenity
• Reporting parking in an unauthorized area ( i . e ., Fire Lane , numbered parking space )
• Observing improper recreational activity occurring at amenities ( i . e ., jumping from the esplanade into the lake )
• Reporting disruptive behavior at the lake and other communal areas ( i . e ., profanity , loud music , etc .)
Please note , Amenity Patrol is NOT security , not a 24- hour service , is not on duty every day , and cannot enforce speeding . If there is an EMERGENCY in need of Fire / Medical / Police response , please dial 911 immediately . Do not waste valuable time calling LLA .
MEMBERSHIP ENFORCEMENT
The key to ensuring the overall private amenity efforts is by enforcing LLA identification and permit usage . LLA Member ID Cards should be available while using community amenities and common properties . Additionally , permits must placed properly on vehicles . Members should never lend these items to guests / relatives / etc .
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
Neighborhood Watch is not coordinated through the LLA . However , there are several Neighborhood Watch programs active in the Lake Linganore area per the National Neighborhood Watch website . If you are interested in learning more , you can visit nnw . org / find-a-watch-program . The best local contact to answer any questions is the Community Services Deputy with the Frederick County Sheriff ’ s Office .
NAVIGATING THE COMMUNITY SAFELY
Driving
It is always essential for drivers to be vigilant of recreators ( especially when it is dark outside ) and always adhere to the speed limit . LLA recognizes speeding is a concern throughout the community and appreciates those who reach out to the office . Lake Linganore ’ s topography , the narrowness of the roadways , and road structure in most areas create a unique community , and are intended to curb speeding . It also means there is no simple solution to the problem . Please know , LLA does not ignore the concerns or suggestions residents provide and is making every effort to address the issue .
Golf Carts
To preserve the privilege to operate golf carts on LLA amenity property , Members must safely operate carts at all times when driving on the trails or amenity property . When on amenity property , remember pedestrians always have the right-of-way ; pull over as soon as possible when on a trail to allow pedestrians to pass , and use caution around blind curves . It is crucial to note golf carts are not permitted on the roadways as golf cart road use is governed by state laws and patrolled and enforced by the Frederick County Sheriff ’ s office . Golf cart accessible trails are notated on the digital trail map on maps . lakelinganore . org on trail pins , descriptions , and in the dropdown menu .
