PET INFORMATION OVERVIEW
LEASH USE Many pet owners enjoy running along the community trails with their pet or visiting the beaches during the permitted times . LLA cannot express the importance of leash use enough . All pets must be leashed with a physical tether ( no electric leashes ) in common areas . Please remember even a friendly and exuberant animal can unknowingly cause harm . Please be kind and courteous to others while in common areas and keep pets always leashed . Please note , pets are not allowed on the beaches Memorial Day through Labor Day between 7 am and 7 pm .
PET WASTE There are over 80 pet waste stations throughout the villages within LLA for Members to conveniently dispose of pet waste properly . Please bring a waste bag in case you find yourself in need of collecting your pet ’ s waste in an area without a pet waste station .
FREE-ROAMING PETS LLA understands that accidents happen and sometimes pets make a mad dash to explore the outside world . However , it is against LLA Rules and Regulations to allow pets to roam freely . Additionally , free-roaming pets are vulnerable to local predatory wildlife , can cause a nuisance to neighbors and are at risk of being picked up by Frederick County Animal Control .
IDENTIFICATION It is always helpful for pets to wear a collar with identification that includes up to date owner contact information . This is especially true in the event a pet escapes . You can also register your pet in your Member Account .

PRIVATE PROPERTY Please ensure you and your pet are not trespassing on private property when recreating . While the Lake Linganore community is vast , it is essential to remember it is bordered by private property . Please be mindful as you traverse the common areas ( i . e ., trails ) to not trespass on to private property . It is also important to know that your home may border private property and not LLA common area . Most non-LLA owners with property bordering the Lake Linganore community have installed extensive signage and fencing marking their private property . However , it is always important to know private property boundaries regardless of signage and fencing . To ensure you are not trespassing , LLA encourages Members to review Frederick County Geographic Information System ( GIS ) property explorer for the most up-to-date parcel mapping .
DOGS BARKING Excessive barking is a common complaint the office receives . It can be annoying and inconvenient to listen to the sounds of a barking dog at all hours of the day . A major frustration is when owners place pets outside for the day and then leave home , thus leaving the rest of the neighborhood with incessant barking for the day . Lake Linganore Association is
