GM Journal
Michelle Jones
When I was growing up , I always rolled my eyes when my Aunt Sandy said , “ time flies when you ’ re having fun , and the older you get the faster it flies ”. Now , I find myself repeating her as I think of my first year here at LLA . Not long after joining the team in September of 2017 , I started an outreach campaign to try to foster better communication and ultimately , a better relationship between the Association and you , the Members . While I ’ m confident we ’ ve come a long way , I know we still have a ‘ ways ’ to go .
I ’ d like to revisit some of those old initiatives ; I ’ m hoping you can help me . Back in 2018 , each month in LakeTalk , we published the GM journals . I wrote articles about the governing documents , certain rules , the water issues we see , complaints and issues that arise often , etc . I never received any feedback ; so , after one year , it was discontinued . That same year , I kept my office door and schedule open all day on Wednesdays for coffee & conversation . Over the course of the year , I had three people take advantage , and they remain in communication regularly , but again , due to lack of participation , it was discontinued .
However , considering the abundance of change we ’ ve all seen and experienced in the last several years , it seems high time we try again .
I ’ m hoping you will help me reignite and continue those old initiatives . If you have topics you ’ d like me to cover in the GM journals , I ’ d love to hear them . If your schedule allows , please join me for coffee & conversation at the Oakdale Clubhouse on the last Wednesday of the month . It was held at 9 am in January , and is scheduled for the same in February . Would a weekday evening or a Saturday morning work better ? Would Zoom vs . In-person be easier ? Please let me know . You can provide feedback for both via Condo Control by submitting an Application or Request . I look forward to hearing from you . ____________________________________
