Dog Parks
Dog parks are important to communities for a variety of reasons . They provide designated areas for dogs to play , exercise , and socialize . Dogs need regular exercise in order to stay healthy and happy , and dog parks offer a convenient and accessible place for them to run and play .
Dog parks also provide benefits for the people who live in the community . For example , dog parks can serve as a gathering place for people who are interested in dogs and dogrelated activities ! This can help to build a sense of community and provide opportunities for people to meet and socialize with others who share their interests .
The Lake Linganore Summerfield Dog Park was established in 2015 . It is located off Sawyer Road , next to the pool and tennis courts . Park hours are from dawn until dusk . The dog
22 LakeTalk August 2023 park features clean-up stations , drinking water fountains , and separate play areas for both large and small dogs .
The Dog Park Rules are as follows :
1 . All dogs in the park are their owner ’ s responsibility . LLA is not liable for any injuries to dogs , their owners / handlers , or others within the dog park .
2 . All dogs must be wearing a collar at all times with a valid rabies tag . In addition to the rabies vaccine it is strongly recommended that dogs be vaccinated against Kennel Cough ( Bordetella ), 5 in 1 and use heartworm preventive . 3 . All dogs must be spayed / neutered .
4 . Owners / handlers must clean up after their dog ( s ) and place the waste in the appropriate containers within the park .
5 . Any dog ( s ) acting aggressively toward people or other dogs must be removed from the dog park by its owner / handler immediately .
6 . An adult must accompany children under 16 years of age at all times .
7 . No smoking , no drinking of alcoholic beverages and no glass containers are permitted in the dog park .
8 . Dogs must be at least 4 months of age . It is recommended that owners of smaller puppies use the “ small dog ” area .
9 . No hard plastic toys or rope toys are allowed in the dog park , only soft toys , tennis balls and fabric Frisbees .
10 . Please discourage excessive barking and digging . If a dog digs , owners / handlers are required to fill any holes created .
