12 Lakeside Social Again, it was another fantastic walk around our lovely dam. The generosity of you all is truly humbling, as we received a tremendous amount of pet food for both cats and dogs along with bowls, blankets and even a large quantity of shampoo. It was great to see so many dogs walk- ing as well, all of which were very well behaved. At around the half way mark, Carl and Deidre Knight, our local Re-Max estate agents, kindly sponsored the ‘Sucker Stop’ where everyone, adults included, enjoyed a refreshing sucker. We are very lucky to have such a lovely area that all of our families can walk around unhindered, and as always we would like to give our thanks to our supporters: Johnny from the Shell Garage, Carl and Deidre Knight, Nevada, the developers of our new and long-awaited shops (and did you see Bronwyn manning the Sucker Stop even with that huge boot on her broken foot?) All of the items donated have been either collect- ed or delivered, and of course, greatly received, so a big Woof-Woof and Meow-Meow from them all. Our next event is the Heritage Day Braai in the park, on September 24. We know it is a long weekend, but if you are here it would be great if you could join us. Of course, friends and fam- ily are welcome and Janis will be singing for us again, and as usual we will have toilets for the event. If you have any suggestions for anything else for the day, please let us know by popping in to see Sonya at the office. Thank you again for your support and hope to see you all on Heritage Day.
