Chairman’s Report
Lakeside Village 2017/2018 Chairman’s Report
We have come to the end of another year at Lakeside Village, my first year as
chairman after being involved in the various committees over the last 13 years.
Another year, our auditors were once again happy with our financial results,
we are in a great place at the moment, this is mostly due to all the policies and
procedures that have been put in place by the various committees and people
behind the scenes since this village started its operations as a Home Owners
Association.
Below is a summary of the various activities that we were raised at the last AGM
and some of the details that the committees have been up to over the past year.
Security – Always our biggest focus
We have installed lights around our whole perimeter, and installed a new bigger
generator to cope with the additional load and future projects which we are
planning.
We can inform you that crime is shocking outside the estate, but you most likely
knew that already. Go Ape, Piston Ring and other areas around Modderfontein
have cars stolen on a regular basis, which is a major concern, but is outside our
area of influence, but we are trying to curb crime in the greater Modderfontein
area within the Community Policing Forum. Lakeside together with the CPF are
busy putting in licence plate recognition cameras in Modderfontein, be on the
lookout for cameras being installed, more to follow at the AGM.
Environmental and Architecture
Alasdair and his committee have had a lot of plans to approve throughout the
year, thank you to the team for ensuring we do keep to our architectural guide-
lines and schemes. A lot of their budget has been put on hold while we wait and
see what transpires with the shopping centre and all the road developments.
The committee had wanted to make changes to the entrance, wanted to put up
screening to prevent the lights shining into houses from the new roads and ex-
ists along Johannesburg Road. We are waiting for the development to complete
and then to access the final implications and the solutions.
Financial
As always, this be
