4 Notices December builder’s break The December is here and the holidays are around the corner. Builders close down over this period and we would like to remind you that it is your responsibility to ensure that your site is left in a safe, neat and tidy condition during the break. Most builders will close on the 8th of December. Over the weekend following, the 9th and 10th of December, the E&A committee will inspect all the construction sites in the village and expect the items below to have been attended to: • All litter, empty cement bags and other rubbish must be removed from the stand and the adjacent stands. • All building rubble must be removed, especially from adjacent stands and the pave- ment area. • Excavated sand must be removed. This is often left to pile up and become a growth area for weeds etc. • All tree stumps and cut down trees must be removed. • The pavement area should be kept neat. If there are weeds and grass growing please have this cut back. • The site must be safe. We have a lot of children on holiday, please ensure that piles of bricks are safely stacked, that open foundations and deep holes are covered, elec- trical and water mains are safe etc. We would hate to have an incident in the village. Please try and secure your site as far as possible to stop children gaining access. Any problems picked up during the review will be dealt with on Monday the 11th December and will be for the owners account. Where necessary applicable fines may be imposed. In the week following the review (11th-15th), all outstanding items are to be addressed. While we understand that construction is a messy business, there is no reason for this mess to extend beyond the site or for it to be unsightly. Please make sure your builder is aware of these requirements. Please remember that this is all to keep our village looking good and your assistance in this regard is most appreciated. As per above, we expect most construction work to stop by December 8th, further to this the committee has taken the decision that no building work will be allowed, including contractors on site, from December 15th until January 8th. This is so that residents in the village can enjoy the holidays in peace, which we are sure you understand. If you have any questions or queries please contact the office ASAP. Wishing you a safe holiday and prosperous new year! Alasdair Forsyth, E&A Director Christmas lights competition time!
