Living on Faith by Ashley Butler Ashley Butler is a wife and mother of two boys. Throughout her journey, she has witnessed the ever-changing colors of the kaleidoscope called life. But, most importantly, she has experienced the true transforming power of Jesus Christ. Her heart’s desire is to apply her unique perspective and encourage others along the way, knowing that they too can benefit from the same redemptive power she knows through Christ. Let Us Pray Once upon a time, in a lifetime long ago, I sang in a little Southern Gospel group called, Krystal Klear. Cyndal Jones and Morgan Murphy were my partners in crime. We were a cute little spunky trio that whirled around Alabama and Georgia, pulling a trailer and living on Taco Bell. It was a good time! As I reflect on those memories, one of the songs we sang came to mind. Honestly, out of every lyric that flowed from our mouth, the following words have profoundly affected my life more than any... “Let us pray for a FILLING not a FEELING.” This wasn’t my favorite song that we sang, but again, those words have piloted a large portion of my now more mature Spiritual journey. Prayer is a beautiful thing. Entering into the Throne Room is such a special time. It can bring clarity to situations, healing to the weary, and hope to the hopeless. Most importantly of all, it draws us closer to Jesus. That personal relationship that we have with the Lord is like no other. No love of a Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, or Friend can compare to the love of Jesus. The coolest part to me, is the day that I learned that Jesus doesn’t want my elegant speech. Jesus is not interested is how professionally worded my sentences sound. The Maker of Heaven and Earth just wants….me. Jesus likes ugly prayers.
