rocking and rolling around in the wind . Jesus went out to them walking on the water and it shook the boys to their core . He kinda caught them off guard . I mean , it ’ s not everyday a dude comes strolling along , walking on water . Can you imagine if they had social media back then ? I bet that would have gone viral !! Anyway , after Jesus told them to relax , that it was just Him , Peter was like “ Lord , if it ’ s you , tell me to come on to the water .” Jesus said , “ come .” So , there Peter went . He was walking on water . I ’ m sure he couldn ’ t believe what was actually happening . I know I wouldn ’ t have been able to grasp it . Peter , however , got a little distracted . Remember , things were rough out there in that moment . Peter took his eyes off Jesus . This brings us to the choice portion of our chat today . Peter started watching everything around him . The chaos . Notice that just because Peter stepped out and had walked a bit on the water , it didn ’ t change his environment . It was still really horrific out there . He got distracted . Peter had a choice to make . He could focus on the distraction , or Peter could trust in the Lord and walk further . Jesus reached in and saved Peter . Guess what ? He will do the same for you . He will do the same for me . We have a CHOICE . It is ours to make . Your mother can ’ t make it for you . The Lord can ’ t make it for you . ONLY YOU CAN MAKE THE CHOICE .
When life is crazy ( and haven ’ t we had a bait of crazy in the past 12 months ), you have a choice . Even when you can ’ t immediately see the end result , you have a choice to sink or keep your eyes on the trust of the Lord that will never leave you or forsake you . ( Deuteronomy 31:8 ) What choice will you make ?
Make a point to put the Lord before every single choice you make in 2021 . Nothing is too small or too large , to seek the Lord ’ s will about . NOTHING . Pray about everything and worry about nothing . ( Philippians 4:6-7 )
