a teacher is the easiest job in a pandemic because school is closed , think again . They are all working harder now learning all the alternative means of teaching kids when they aren ’ t in the classroom than they ever did when times were normal .
I ’ ll finish this little story with an observation . I don ’ t think there is any reason to stand on a street corner holding a “ The End is Near ” sign because this isn ’ t the first time we ’ ve had an event that affected the world and it won ’ t be the last . I sometimes wonder if the common cold can ’ t be cured because maybe it ’ s not supposed to be . Maybe it ’ s the cold itself that ’ s the cure for something much worse . But just as Polio brought us penicillin and measles and smallpox helped build the science to further develop vaccines . Even the Spanish Flu of 1919 taught us that face coverings helped and was solely responsible for the elimination of ‘ spittoons ’. ( no love lost there ).
You must know , however , that my heart hurts for anyone who has suffered direct loss from this awful plague . We ’ ve lost friends too . So to make light of this and claim it is just a cycle of events that have happened before and will likely be repeated in some form in later generations is such a callus thing to say and I hope that no one will think less of me for saying it . We have before , now and always will be challenged and we can only face it straight forward and learn from it so that the next time it happens , we can be better prepared . I pray for all of you every day . I pray for those that have suffered illness , death , solitude and financial distress . I pray for those vulnerable , including myself , and I ’ m not alone . Just close your eyes in a quiet room and you can hear them .

Remembering Loved Ones Lost to COVID-19

SInce the COVID-19 Pandemic began there have been numerous family and friends lost to the virus . Lake Wedowee Life has gotten several requests to do in memory stories of the brave men and women that are no longer with us . We quickly realized there were just too many that have died in this community and we would never want to leave any one out .
So we , as a company , decided to dedicate space on our website to remember the ones that we have lost . If you are interested in contributing a story of a loved one , please contact Kelly Caldwell directly at news @ lakewedoweelife . com
We all want to remember and honor the legacy of those that have left us .
