Internet Service Provider Looking to Expand Service to Lake Wedowee Area
There is another player in the internet service provider game that is eyeing the Lake Wedowee market as its next area for expansion .
High Speed Country Internet is a wireless internet service provider based in Buchanan , GA . that ’ s been around since 2014 and was founded based on a simple concept … Bringing quality high speed internet to rural areas .
“ We needed internet and couldn ’ t find a provider that worked for us , so we began researching the market and technology … it ’ s like that saying where there ’ s a will , there ’ s a way ,” Kevin Boulton , owner of High Speed Country Internet ( HCI ), said .
Since the beginning , HCI has been committed to bringing internet to homes in businesses in rural West Georgia and over the last year to East Alabama in Cleburne County .
“ We are currently in Ranburne and are in negotiations to put a tower up that could get us to Wedowee ,” Boulton said .
The internet service HCI provides is wireless but they describe it as a wireless fiber connection . Two towers are aimed directly at each other and communicating at very high speeds . HCI then connects directly with antennas on your tower , buildings or house . The antenna then connects wirelessly to your router of computer .
