don’t forget the groom
The wedding isn’t just about the bride, so don’t forget the
groom. He’s the reason you are there and you couldn’t do
it without him. Take time to remind him how important
he is.
GROOM’S FAMILY
Writing letters to the parents or in-laws is a way to show
how much you appreciate them for welcoming you into the
family. Another thoughtful idea is a gift for your mother
in-law, include a card that says ”Thank you for raising the
love of my life”. Don’t forget you’re marrying her baby boy.
INVOLVEMENT
Get him excited about planning the wedding as well.
Give him special tasks that he would have fun with, like
planning the drink menu and picking out his tux. Don’t
forget to ask him what he wants and remind him how
important his opinion is.
GROOMSMEN
Provide the groomsmen with a wedding day survival kit
filled with liquors, snacks, shaving accessories, cuff links, or
personalized items. Make sure there is a lounge area for not
only the groomsmen, but also the groom’s other friends as well.
Perhaps provide a masculine whiskey and cigar lounge area.
SPECIAL GIFT
Get creative and give a gift to remind your groom the day
is about love and celebration. Give him a “your eyes only”
photo album, a watch telling him you’ll see him at the
wedding, a love letter, or socks saying “in case you get cold
feet.”
LITTLE DETAILS
Writing out your groom’s “must remember” list…Wear his
cufflinks, shine his shoes, give the wedding rings to the
best man, slip his vows into his pocket. These little details
will ease his nerves and remind him that the day is about
you and him.
