Zoe Combs was honored at the Stockton RI
Schools’ Veterans Day ceremonies. Top left is the
display on the large overhead screen at the high
school while Jim Behen, with Zoe on the top right,
read her amazing account of her service as an army
nurse during WWII. Top center, Zoe enjoyed praise
from fellow Veterans, Larry Christie and Larry Griffin.
Left, Zoe is proud of her great granddaughter and
namesake, Zoe Rains, who sang a solo at the ele-
mentary ceremony. Standing with them are Jennifer
Rains, Janet Fox and Mikayla Fox.
Below, the Veterans in our facility were treated to
pie, Friday afternoon, by Beth Cummins, Marilyn and
Donnie Ellis. The Veterans who were unable to attend
were served pie in their rooms. Lower left, Don Clark
and guest, Jacky Vincent. Center, Herman Thornton
and right, Jim Cargill, Betty Buchanan, Don, Jacky,
Beth, Herman and Willis Cagle.

Annual Christmas auction is set for Monday, Dec. 11. You may do-
nate items any time. We have plenty of stuffed toys at this time. Other
items that sell well include: Christmas tins of cookies or popcorn, candy,
jewelry, wallets or purses, postage stamps, and ball caps. Residents
are given $200 play money to spend for the game that day.
