After the sun went down, Kevin set off fireworks west of the courtyard in the open field. The cascade of various colors lit up the night sky. Bridget Wright’s son, Charlie, entertained everyone by catching fireflies and waving sparklers. We were able to see most of the city fireworks, Agape’s show and other flashes all around town from our vantage point. e-mail: cheryl.ahlers@ citizensmemorial.com 6 5 7 8 5 - 0945 ( 4 1 7) 2 7 6- 5 1 2 6 F A X ( 417) 276- 6 2 2 2 A DM IN IS TR AT IO N : KE V IN C OSTE LLO , A D M IN IS TRA TOR C ARR IE M EE KS , D IRE CT OR OF N URS IN G R HO N DA C ULB ERTSO N , B IL L ING C OOR D IN AT OR D EBR A ST OC KTON , SO C IAL S ERV ICES Summer Time Harvest Begins Billie Felker shows how a hair pin inserted into a cork works as a cherry pitter. The cherries are from the tree in our back yard. We’ve enjoyed several pies and cobblers. Joe Fox helped stem gooseberries for a pie served at the Fathers’ Day fish fry. Zinnias, bell peppers, lettuce and tomatoes thrive after the spring rains.
