COVID Update for CMH Long Term Care
Governor Parsons recently announced the plan to “reopen”
Missouri has started. While that is welcome news, it is important to
note it does not include nursing and assisted living facilities. The
federal and state government, through the Department of Health
and Senior Services (DHSS), continue to require us to maintain stringent
visitor restrictions. The only current “relaxing” of these restrictions
from the DHSS is in regard to open window and outdoor
visits.
CMH and LSHCF are working hard to make changes which will
promote these visits in accordance with the specific guidance we
have been given. It is our hope to have implemented these
visits by the time you read this newsletter. Please follow us on
Facebook or at www.citizensmemorial.com for the latest information.
While our focus has always been on protecting our residents, we
sincerely understand your strong desire to see them. I am proud of
the LSHCF team who has done their best to temporarily stand in for
you with compassion and love for our residents but I also recognize,
residents need their families and friends. Please be aware,
nursing homes face harsh citations and penalties for not following
DHSS reopening guidelines; so your continued patience is very
much appreciated.
As the DHSS allows us to “reopen” more, we will do so and try to
keep you posted with each step. In the meantime, we will continue
to fight hard for your loved ones to keep COVID out and keep
LSHCF your first choice in long term care!

July 4th Celebration with “The Geezers”
The city fireworks begin at dusk on Saturday,
July 4, and are visible from our front patio. Entertainment
by Joe and Johnny, aka “The Geezers” has been
scheduled for 7 p.m. They are local musicians and always
put on a professional, fun and nostalgic program.
The city’s car show has been invited to use our
facility for a turn around that day as well, hoping to
make this a full day for our residents.
