The LSHCF CrusAIDEr
Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility Serving Lake Stockton and the surrounding area since 1975
Thanksgiving may be over but at Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility our thankfulness continues . In that spirit , I felt it important to take a moment to express my gratitude to some amazing people .
To the employees of LSHCF , thank you . You are the front line in a tough war . Your jobs are tough in a normal year and you are often not given the due respect your profession deserves . While we know there is some luck to keeping COVID out , you have made your luck by doing the right thing day after day . You have screened , worn PPE , socially distanced and sacrificed to keep others safe . Even more importantly , I see and hear you providing love and compassion as you do your work . It is so hard on our residents to be missing their families but you have done an admirable job of trying to be there for them as a surrogate . Thank you for all you do to provide exceptional care and services every day .
To the families of LSHCF , thank you for being patient . I can only imagine how you feel but am grateful for the way you have handled this challenge . Your kind words of support and recognition in care plans , phone calls and social media is so appreciated . We want you back in the facility almost as much as you want to be back and are working hard to make that happen . Thank you for having our backs and supporting us so well .
To the residents … wow . You have amazed us with your positivity and resilience . How do you seem to know when we are smiling or having a hard day under these masks ? How do you stay so positive and sweet when we tell you “ quarantine will go another week ?” What are you seeing when you call us “ handsome ” or “ beautiful ” despite us wearing gowns , masks and goggles ? You truly are the greatest generation . I am so grateful to serve those who have served , cared for , come before and paved ways for the rest of us . In the midst of a difficult year with a hard pandemic , you are why we do it and you are why it is so worth it . Thank you for allowing us the privilege of caring for you .
Merry Christmas . Chris McBratney , Administrator
Maybe Christmas , perhaps … means a little bit more !
This is a favorite quote from How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr , Seuss . Keeping spirits up this season will be a challenge to say the least . We , the staff of LSHCF will do our very best to make this a joyful time . We have always relied on families and community for special Christmas events . If you have fun ideas for music , games or entertainment that are COVID safe please contact Cheryl Ahlers , 417-809-5325 . A live Nativity Set is one event we are hoping to do . We are looking for live but very tame animals to add to the set ,
As always , Santa ’ s Helpers will be here on Christmas morning to deliver gifts from families . Be sure to have your gifts here ahead of time so packages can be wiped down and aired out . All clothing and personal items will need
residents ’ names on them .
Wishing You a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !
