COVID Update for CMH Long Term Care
The road to reopening is proving not to be a direct route for Lake Stockton
Healthcare Facility (LSHCF) or our community. Despite additional guidance from
the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), LSHCF is still a long
way from our destination of being “open” again. At the time of writing this, recent
flare ups (I optimistically hesitate to call it a surge) of positive tests in our
community have us once again drawing protective ranks around our residents
and temporarily suspending outdoor and open window visits. We are on the reopening
road but currently have a flat tire.
We will bring these visits and more back as soon as possible but it is increasingly
clear our road to reopening will be more of a back country journey than a
quick interstate jaunt. Like many of Stockton’s dirt roads, the signs may not always
be clear and our GPS (the DHSS’s guidance) is likely to put us in the middle
of the lake if we are not paying close attention to the path. We will reach our
destination but it is going to be a little rocky and definitely not fast. On the bright
side, everyone knows a good back road trip is often a great opportunity to get
to know your traveling partners and see some amazing sights. At LSHCF, we cannot
think of better people than our residents to be taking this trip with and are
proud to be their drivers.
It is not an easy journey but LSHCF is doing our best to make sure our residents,
your loved ones, and our staff reach the destination safely together. Thank you
for supporting us along the way.

Annual County Fair!
Aug. 19 at 2 p.m.
We will have the dunk tank, snow
cones and Nerf gun shoot set up in
front of the building. Rain out date is
Thursday, Aug. 20.
We are taking extra precautions
this year to prevent potential cross contamination. We are sorry
that it will be limited to staff and residents only at this time. We will
post on Facebook if visiting restrictions are lifted by the time the fair
rolls around.
C of C Car Show to Parade at LSHCF
The Chamber of Commerce annual car show is scheduled for
Saturday, Aug. 29. They have graciously organized a drive through
parade to circle our parking lot in front of the building at 2 p.m. so
our residents can enjoy the classic and antique cars as they
drive by.
