FIRST AND SECOND GRADE HOUSE LEAGUE ( GRADES 1-2 ) Goals of this clinic based program will be geared towards introduction of the sport and fundamental players skill development . This is a great program for Girls interested in trying the sport for the first time . While this is a clinic based program and geared towards stressing skill development through drill work and group game play , the girls will engage in game play against teams from Vernon Hills , Mundelein and Libertyville as part of a travel house league . Girls will learn the proper techniques of throwing , hitting , base running , defense and overall rules of game play .

Girls will need to supply their own equipment , including ; cleats , glove , fielders mask , and softball pants . Participants will receive a visor , team jersey and socks .

JUNIOR SCOUTS HOUSE LEAGUE ( GRADES 3-8 ) Teams at the 3rd / 4th grade ( 10U ), 5th / 6th grade ( 12U ), and 7th / 8th grade ( 14U ) will be entered into a locally based Travel House League , comprised of teams from Lake Forest , Vernon Hills , Mundelein and Libertyville . Players will work on skill development ( catching , throwing , fielding , hitting , base running , and pitching ) and the different positions . Home games will be played in Lake Forest and away games at various neighboring communities within the league . Our league , commissioned by Vernon Hills , has built their league upon philosophies of fun and player development .

This program is open for all skill levels of players . Practices will be 90 minutes in duration and games roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes . Game schedules will be dictated by the league and begin in May and run through the end of June . End of the year tournament will be during the last week of June and wrap up before July 4th . The playoff games could be played on different nights that are not advertised . Starting in May teams will play two games and one practice during the week .

Players will need to provide their own equipment ( softball pants , fielders mask , glove , and cleats ). Game uniforms will be provided , including : visor , jersey and socks .
