Junior Scouts Girls Softball
GOALS & PHILOSOPHIES
LFRD Junior Scouts Girls Softball is an all-encompassing Girls Fast-Pitch Softball system for athletes in 1st through 8th grade . Featuring entry level programming , clinic based programming , winter workouts , house leagues and travel options , our system has a place for any avid softball players . The Junior Scouts Softball system is designed to prepare athletes for the next level at Lake Forest High School . Athletes will not only become better players but also , better people . Coaching will not only stress skill development , it will stress the importance of teamwork and building character , leadership and good work ethic .
HOUSE LEAGUE
LFRD Junior Scouts Girls Softball House League is a quality fast-pitch youth softball program focusing on FUN , fundamental skill development , teamwork , and individual growth for 1st-8th Grade in our community and surrounding areas .
This program will instill sportsmanship , teamwork , and enjoyment of the game . As a recreation league , having FUN , learning fundamentals , developing skills and game IQ , will be top priorities . Players will also learn lessons such a discipline , hard work , and perseverance in a supervised environment that lay the building blocks for further life development . Athletes will receive a team jersey , visor and socks .
TRAVEL LEAGUE
Goals of this program are to provide our most competitive female athletes in 3rd-8th Grade the opportunity to develop individual and team skills , challenge their competitive spirit , and in turn , prepare them to excel at the high school level . Our travel league program is committed to developing competitive teams fueled by commitment , leadership , team work , and respect for the game , family , and community . Teams will play in the North Shore Fast Pitch League and may engage in tournaments throughout the north shore , dependent on skill level . Athletes who are ready for travel league will be selected by LFRD Coaches and Staff through the winter workout program prior to each travel season , which is played in the spring , each year . More information will be distributed to these athletes after they are selected .
