Lake Forest Sailing is a U . S . Sailing accredited community sailing center . We specialize in youth sailing , and our curriculum includes everything from how-to-sail lessons for five-year-olds and up , to coaching high school sailors in international racing . All of our instructors are U . S . Sailing certified and trained in safety and instruction .
We have an impactful presence on the national sailing scene with our youth race teams and are proud of their many accomplishments . Although our main sailing season is during the summer , our more experienced sailors train and compete in the Midwest during fall and spring , and join the winter sailing circuit in Florida .

The Friends of Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Foundation was established to promote excellence in our parks and recreation system by helping build beautiful parks , make improvements , and expand recreational programs and activities . Our fundraising events bring friends , families , and the entire community together . Proceeds from these events help support the enhancement of Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Department ’ s programs , services , facilities , and need-based activity scholarships for families in the community .
